Marc-Andre Fleury gets angry again, swings his stick at teammate after Rangers’ goal!

He immediately apologized, but what’s going on with Flower?

On Saturday, Marc-Andre Fleury was visibly upset after his Minnesota Wild’s 6-5 overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres, slamming his equipment around, muttering to himself in French over and over and over in between spiking to the ground his helmet, skates, chest protector and ripped-off tape. This is so unusual for the happy-go-lucky goalie.

“No, it’s on me,” Fleury snapped at his teammate Matt Dumba then. “Fifth goal. Horses—. Can’t happen. On me. So stupid. Stupid. I let you guys down.”

Fleury then took a short leave of absence, reportedly dealing with a difficult situation away from the ice. He flew to Montreal for personal reasons, but was back last night to face the New York Rangers.

But frustration lingers, and when defenseman Adam Fox beat Fleury to tie the game at 2, the netminder was once again visibly frustrated and, as team insider Michael Russo for The Athletic pointed out, he “reacted by frustratingly swinging his stick and accidentally got Merrill in the ankle.” Fleury did immediately apologize to John Merrill, though fans were quick to react to this new outburst.

Still, Fleury stopped a season-high 40 shots last night as the Rangers’ 43 shots are tied for the most shots against Minnesota this season.

Let’s hope that whatever Fleury is dealing with off the ice will get resolved and that he can get back to the player and person he usually for his own wellbeing and the good of the team.
