Maple Leafs set for season debut against the Bruins.

Craig Berube has hinted at the fact that one Maple Leaf will make his season debut tonight.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are shaking up their lineup ahead of a clash against divisional rivals the Boston Bruins, and as a result one Maple Leaf is poised to make his first appearance of the regular season.

Although nothing has been set in stone, signs from the Maple Leafs morning skate strongly indicate that defenseman Philippe Myers will be playing his first game of the regular season when the Leafs take on the Bruins later this evening. It will no doubt feel like a great personal accomplishment for Myers who played for the Toronto Marlies all the way back during the 2021-22 season, and has since gone on to play in 16 NHL games for the Tampa Bay Lightning over the course of two seasons.

There were other interesting notes from practice on Saturday morning, with Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube shaking things up after being visibly disappointed with his team behind the bench during the week. Coming back into the lineup will be veteran forward Max Pacioretty, and with Myers and Pacioretty coming in it looks like Pontus Holmberg and Conor Timmins will be the odd men out as healthy scratches this evening.

The Maple Leafs will once again turn to goaltender Anthony Stolarz for what is a very important game on the calendar, which makes perfect sense given how well Stolarz has played so far this season. Stolarz has recorded a .938 goals against average over his 5 appearances for the Leafs so far, boasting a 1.83 goals against average over that stretch of play.

Both the Maple Leafs and the Bruins have had their fair share of struggles this season, so tonight's game will be an important contest for both teams as they attempt to work their way back into playoff positions.
