While the rest of the Toronto Maple Leafs fan base awaits the decision by new Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving when it comes to the futures of goaltenders Ilya Samsonov and Matt Murray, they've gone ahead and taken care of one particular piece of business in the crease.
Goaltender Artur Akhtyamov, who the Leafs selected in the 4th round of the 2020 NHL Draft (106th overall), has been signed to a three year entry level contract.
Playing last season with Neftyanik Almetievsk of the Supreme Hockey League, Akhtyamov posted a record of 20-12-6 with a strong 1.74 goals against average and .942 save percentage.
