The Toronto Maple Leafs were able to even up their preseason record at 1-1 thanks to their 5-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres at Kraft Hockeyville 2023 at Joe Thornton Community Centre in St. Thomas, Ontario, on Tuesday night.
However, they're already dealing with the injury bug, as new Leafs defenseman John Klingberg was removed from the game after having something "tighten up". According to the Leafs, he'll be needing additional evaluation.
Klingberg joined the Leafs this summer after agreeing to a one year, $4.15 million contract given to him by new Toronto general manager Brad Treliving. The Swedish defenseman is coming off a season in which he split his time between the Anaheim Ducks and Minnesota Wild; he signed with the Ducks last offseason.
