If you're going to be playing in a hockey market as intense as the one in Toronto, Ontario you're going to want to look good in front of the cameras and this week Toronto Maple Leafs backup goaltender Erik Kallgren took a step towards making sure he will be looking sharp come the 2022 - 2023 National Hockey League regular season.

The Leafs goalie has unveiled a brand new design for the mask that he will be sporting this upcoming season, and thus far the reactions to the new look on social media have been very positive.

Kallgren has gone with what I would describe as a very basic design with the traditional colors of the Maple Leafs being featured on the mask and a large white maple leaf being the focus of the front of the design. The mask does feature some very nice additional details as well however with several additional leafs that resemble snowflakes painted across the mask, as well as a wonderful backdrop of the city in the background along the sides of the mask as well.

The mask is, quite frankly, beautiful and I have to imagine it will be a very big hit among the Toronto faithful this season. I suspect that the artist behind this wonderful design, David Gunnarsson, will soon be releasing images of the finished product, but for now here is your first look at Erik Kallgren's new cage.
