Maple Leafs get huge update on Max Pacioretty just before the playoffs.
The Toronto Maple Leafs may have just gotten some very big news at the perfect time.
The Toronto Maple Leafs may have just gotten some very big news at the perfect time.
Although his body would fail to hold up in the long term, the Maple Leafs got some good hockey out of veteran forward Max Pacioretty during the early goings of the 2024-25 National Hockey League regular season. Pacioretty appeared in 37 games for the Maple Leafs and proved he could still produce offensively with 5 goals and 8 assists for a total of 13 points, all the while also serving as a physical presence on the ice.
Unfortunately, as has often been the case for Pacioretty in the latter stages of his NHL career, injuries would prove to be a major factor in his season and have in fact kept him sidelined for the majority of the regular season.
There has been hope however that Pacioretty could return in time for the Stanley Cup playoffs and on Saturday the Maple Leafs received a sign of that very possibility. For the first time since his extended layoff, Pacioretty was seen hitting the ice for a morning skate alongside of his teammates. Video quickly circulated on social media although Pacioretty doesn't seem to be exerting himself too much in the footage that has been shared.
Could this be the first sign that the Maple Leafs can expect to have Max Pacioretty healthy and ready for the Stanley Cup playoffs? The timing appears to be too good to be a mere coincidence.
Stay tuned for more on this developing story.
