Maple Leafs fans outraged with team’s most recent decision

I have to admit this is unacceptable! Get the full story below:

Fans in Toronto may be excited to see the Maple Leafs getting another shot at the Stanley Cup in the postseason, they are now mostly outraged at the team’s latest decision that will impact next season. According to the Athletic, prices for 2025-26 season tickets have jumped by as much as 20% in some sections with the so-called cheap seats being hammered the most.

From the report in the Athletic:

“One section with the largest increases was near the top of the building, in the purple section, where two season tickets went from $8,522 this season to $10,396 for next year.

“Fans were also invoiced at the same time for playoff tickets and asked to pay for all four rounds — and four games in each round; ticket holders’ accounts will be credited for playoff games that don’t happen — up front. A playoff ticket package in that same upper bowl section is priced at $14,360 for two tickets, nearly double the cost of the 41-game regular season package. That represents a nearly 13 percent increase year over year.”

And fans are pissed off.

As Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun points out, fans took to social media to voice their frustrations with many even claiming that the atmosphere at Scotiabank Arena has died.

“Dumb decision from the organization, bro their arena sounds like a legit library sometimes,” a X user wrote.

The thing is, even if some Leafs fans get so outraged that they refuse to renew their ticket package for 2025-26, there are more than 12,000 people reportedly on a waitlist for season tickets.

And so, I don’t see how the Maple Leafs would care that some fans are upset with this latest decision to jack up prices…
