The Toronto Maple Leafs suffered some rather extensive injuries during their now-completed 2022-23 NHL season that saw several top talents miss time due to various ailments.
But it was one particular member of the team who had his season come to a halt in November after suffering a shoulder injury - and apparently, his time with the franchise could soon be coming to an end.
Nick Robertson underwent shoulder surgery after appearing in only 15 games. The cruel irony is that it wasn't his first major injury, as he'd suffered a fractured leg the season before. Is he looking for a change of scenery?
According to NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman in his latest 32 Thoughts The Podcast, it looks like it could potentially be a possibility, and even listed an Eastern Conference team that could be interested in him.
Friedman stated:
"One guy Philadelphia has shown some interest in before is Nick Robertson. Nick Robertson might be the kind of guy who could benefit from a fresh start. I don't know how they would feel about him now, given he has battled injuries and had some unfortunate luck in the past couple of years, but I do know he's someone they've liked in the past."
Robertson, who was the 53rd overall selection by the Leafs in the 2019 NHL Draft, had scored two goals and three assists in 15 games with the Leafs before his injury occurred.
