Major update on Dylan Larkin's contract negotiations

For fans of the Detroit Red Wings hoping to see captain Dylan Larkin stick around long term, there is good news to be shared. 

According to multiple reports, there is progress being made on a long term extension to continue the relationship between the two sides. The news was first reported by Max Bultman of The Athletic, and then confirmed by NHL Insiders Pierre LeBrun and Elliotte Friedman: 

Bultman wrote: 

"Boarding a flight right now, but hearing there has been progress between the Red Wings and captain Dylan Larkin on a contract extension. Something to keep an eye on — obviously would be huge for the Red Wings to get that piece of business squared away."
