Major turnaround in Tom Wilson trade situation!
More from insider Pierre LeBrun:

Earlier this week, chatter emerged that Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson could be on the move, and was even linked to the Ottawa Senators.
However, insider Pierre LeBrun reported in his Athletic’s column that the Capitals were shocked to hear about the rumour.
“Chatted with Caps GM Brian MacLellan on Monday, who is as curious as anyone why Tom Wilson’s name is in the rumor mill. MacLellan said he’s not talking to teams about Wilson and isn’t looking to move him.”
Clearly, GM MacLellan has no intention of moving the gritty winger, who is a year away from unrestricted free agency as he enters the final season of his contract, carrying a cap hit of $5.17 million.
And this, despite the fact that Wilson had just 13 goals and 22 points in 33 games this season after he returned from a torn ACL suffered in the 2022 playoffs.
This will be heard around the league and could be the end of that chatter before we enter crunch time and free agency this summer.
