Major injury update on Artemi Panarin

The Rangers forward left Tuesday night's game with a lower body injury.

UPDATE: The following is an update on New York Rangers forward Artemi Panarin after he left Tuesday night's victory over the New York Islanders with an apparent lower body injury.

The good news is that Panarin joined the team for practice this morning and looked no worse for wear.

New York Rangers forward Artemi Panarin left tonight's pre-season win over the New York Islanders with an apparent injury.


After the victory Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette confirmed that Panarin did indeed suffer a lower body injury and that he'll have to be further evaluated before the team can comment on his status.

UPDATE: Chytil has returned to action. It looks like disaster avoided for the Czech forward.


New York Rangers forward Filip Chytil was helped off the ice with an apparent knee injury after an ugly knee-on-knee collision with New York Islanders forward Scott Mayfield. 

Here's the play in question:


Chytil remained on the ice for several minutes before he was eventually helped off the ice by teammates. Chytil's teammate Ryan Lindgren tried to get Mayfield to drop the gloves in retribution, but Mayfield declined.
