“Lucic is going to be wired” for Saturday’s rematch vs. Rangers
Former teammate Mark Giordano reveals the Flames’ enforcer’s intentions:

11 days ago, the Calgary Flames took on the Rangers in New York City and it turned into Fight Night at the Madison Square Garden. During that intense matchup, forward Sammy Blais, who at the time was still a member of the Rangers before his trade out to St. Louis, ended up rocking Flames forward Milan Lucic with a neutral zone hit. Blais got awfully close to nailing Lucic with a head shot and things got completely off the rails. Blais managed to get off scot free. In fact, Lucic earned himself the extra two minutes with an instigator penalty.
It was not the only incident during the game, as Rangers captain Jacob Trouba also managed to deliver a powerful hit, this time on forward Nazem Kadri, leading to another scrum on the ice.
Blais might not be in the Rangers’ lineup anymore, but Lucic made it clear to his former teammate Mark Giordano, now with the Toronto Maple Leafs, that he is hungry for revenge ahead of Saturday’s rematch in Calgary. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman got Giordano to spill the beans on what Lucic told him and reported it in his latest 32 Thoughts column:
“Saturday is the Rangers-Flames rematch from their entertaining, nasty affair at Madison Square Garden. Mark Giordano said he texted Milan Lucic about it post-game. Did you ask him why he let Sammy Blais knock him over? “Oh, he was pretty upset about that,” Giordano said, laughing, and then he paused. “Yeah, he was pretty upset, that’s all I’ll say about that one.” Blais is gone now, but Lucic is going to be wired. “
You better tune it on Saturday!
