Penguins G Louis Domingue’s huge blunder forces Game 7 in New York
This is the first serious dent in the armor of Louis Domingue.
If we're being taught anything in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, it's that absolutely no lead is safe until the final horn.
For the second straight game, the New York Rangers have overcome a 2-0 deficit against the Pittsburgh Penguins to earn a 5-3 victory, with the latest coming tonight at PPG Paints Arena. Fans will now be treated to the 4th Game 7 of Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
And it was a costly blunder from goaltender Louis Domingue, who has performed admirably since being thrust into action, that made it possible. Late in the 3rd period with the score knotted at 3-3, Rangers forward Chris Kreider threw the puck on goal from just inside the blue line. Domingue appeared to catch the puck in his glove, but it eluded his vision and bounced right over his head and into the net.
Game 7 between the Rangers and Penguins will be at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan on Sunday.
