A few days ago, it was reported that Prime Hydration had signed a Maple Leafs player. We didn’t know who, but finally on Wednesday, it was revealed that Auston Matthews had joined founders of the hydration beverage, and YouTube stars, KSI and Logan Paul to sign a sponsorship.
Prime Hydration has signed a number of athletes to sponsorships, including the UFC fighters Alex Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya. The company has also sponsored Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and Aston Villa Women’s forward Alisha Lehmann.
Matthews is added to that roster.
Ever since Paul had hinted at the addition of a Maple Leafs player to his brand, fans had speculated that Matthews would be the one to land the deal. It’s been now made official and you have to admit that this is a game-changing move for the brand.
Fans were right, and I bet they will not be disappointed with Paul and KSI's decision to go with Matthews. This is not only a solid addition to the Prime sponsorship, but also a great business move for Matthews and the National Hockey League. Paul may be a controversial athlete and entertainer, but he has reached a whole new generation of potential fans for the sport of hockey and this could mean good news all around, for everyone involved.
Did you get it right? Had you predicted Matthews would become the new face of Prime?
