Linesman tackles and wrestles Brad Marchand down on the ice!
Tempers flared and Marchand paid for it...

Captain Brad Marchand was the only Boston Bruins’ player to find the back of the net on Thursday night in a 3-1 loss at the hands of the Buffalo Sabres. He was also the only one who was wrestled down to the ice by one of the linesman.
It all started when the Bruins’ captain was whistle down by the referee for tripping Sabres’ Henri Jokiharju behind Buffalo’s cage. The play was blown dead and everyone expected Marchand to make his way to the penalty box, however the Bruins’ captain got frustrated and skated towards one of the linesmen to complain about the call. At the same time, Jokiharju had gotten back up, made his way towards his opposite and tempers quickly flared around the official.
When Marchand motioned that he’d be willing to fight Jokiharju and his teammates, the linesman got between the rival players only to get tangled up with the Bruins’ pesty forward. That’s when his colleague, who was coming fast towards the action, surprised Marchand tackled and wrestled him to the ice to stop the brawl.
Quite the scene close to center ice:
I feel like Marchand is lucky to have ended up with just a minor penalty for tripping, as we know he usually gets in trouble with the NHL’s department of player safety when it comes to slew-footing his rivals.
Maybe the league feels they got some redemption when one of their linesmen jumped the Bruins’ captain and got him to taste some of his medicine.
Let’s just say that with the reputation Marchand carries around the league, it doesn’t take much for the officials to temper the Bruins captain’s outbursts of indiscipline.
I kind of feel like this linesman had fun with this takedown.
