Leafs to change their goal song to The Strokes!?!?
No love for Hall & Oates?!?!?
HockeyFeed
"What I want, you got and it might be hard to handle..."
It's a familiar refrain heard whenever the Toronto Maple Leafs score a goal at Scotiabank Arena for the past few seasons, with the team adopting the Hall & Oates pop classic 'You Make My Dreams' as their goal song. But, if Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman has his way, the team will be switching it up to 'Last Nite' by The Strokes.
Check out Friedman's plea on Sportsnet this evening:
Honestly... I know I'm in the minority but I kinda like the Hall & Oates goal song. I like The Strokes too, so that could work but I don't have strong feelings either way. I do know that I prefer an actual song though, rather than the generic pump up music that so many arenas use.
What about a Toronto band or even a Canadian band though? Imagine a banger by Drake, Justin Bieber, Rush, Billy Talent or the Tragically Hip blasting out when the Leafs score a goal? Now you're talkin'.
Maybe skip past the Barenaked Ladies though...
