For the second consecutive round in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Toronto Maple Leafs find themselves trailing one game to none after dropping the opening game against their Sunshine State opponent. The Florida Panthers drew first blood in the series against Toronto with their fourth straight victory dating back to Round 1 against the Boston Bruins.
As the Maple Leafs would find out, the Panthers continue to prove that they're no pushovers, especially after they did the unthinkable by taking down the 65-win and heavy Stanley Cup favorite Bruins. And while Toronto was able to rebound and knot the score up at two goals apiece, Florida would quickly re-take the lead and refuse to relinquish it.
Head coach Sheldon Keefe has already stated that there will be a few adjustments made by the team for tomorrow night's Game 2, which may include shuffling of the lines.
Keefe also had this to say when speaking of how the Panthers played compared to the Lightning:
"It was a step quicker than it was in the previous series, and that caught us," he said.
Game 2 of the series is tomorrow night before the two teams shift back to Florida for Games 3 and 4.
