NHL insiders Chris Johnston and Frank Seravalli are both reporting that the Toronto Maple Leafs will be without two key roster players when training camp opens up tomorrow morning.
Johnston reports that 23 year old defenseman Timothy Liljegren is injured and will miss the entirety of training camp.

Johnston goes on to report that Liljegren's status shouldn't have any bearing on the contract stalemate between the Leafs and RFA Rasmus Sandin. After all, the Leafs signed depth defenders Jordie Benn and Victor Mete to fill in if/when one of the regular top six defenders went down with injury.
And if that weren't enough, Seravalli reports that Leafs forward Pierre Engvall will also miss the start of training camp due to injury.

While Liljegren's situation has a little bit of clarity, there's still no sense as to how serious Engvall's injury is and how much time he may miss. Stay tuned.
