Leafs and Avalanche send a player to waivers on Sunday.
Two players up for grabs today.
A pair of forwards have hit the waiver wire on Sunday.
According to the latest report from National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman, both the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Colorado Avalanche have placed a forward on waivers today.
In the case of the defending Stanley Cup champions it is forward Anton Blidh that has been sent to waivers today. Blidh has spent most of the season with the Colorado Eagles of the American Hockey League, but has appeared in 13 National Hockey League games for the Avalanche as well. Over that stretch he has no points, 4 penalty minutes, and boasts a plus minus rating of -2.
Short of a team looking for some affordable depth I don't see a world where Blidh gets picked up, although he did have a long tenure with the Boston Bruins prior to joining the Avalanche this season, so perhaps they might take a look.
In the case of the Toronto Maple Leafs it is 27 year old Dryden Hunt who will be hitting the waiver wire.
This move comes as somewhat of a surprise given that the Maple Leafs only just recently traded for Hunt's services, sending Denis Malgin to the Colorado Avalanche in order to add Hunt to their lineup. In spite of the fact that he was just picked up however, it looks like Hunt could now be changing teams for the third time just this season.
Hunt started his season with the Rangers, who would eventually waive him, he was then picked up by the Colorado Avalanche on waivers and they eventually traded him to the Maple Leafs.
Hunt has appeared in a combined 37 regular season games this season, picking up 3 goals and no assists for a total of 3 points.
