Latvian fans show incredible class after defeating the USA.

The supporters of Latvia at the World Championship of Hockey go above and beyond in a great show of class.

Latvian hockey fans showed a great deal of class on Sunday, and may have even given the rest of the world a little lesson in sportsmanship in the process.

On Sunday, Latvia did the improbable when they defeated the United States of America in the Bronze Medal game, capturing the first ever IIHF medal in the small nation's history. It was an incredible accomplishment for the Latvians, one that even brought NHL goaltender Elvis Merzlikins to tears.

Although it was a monumental moment in the sport of hockey for Latvia, in an incredible show of class the hockey fans in that nation did not forget about their opponents. In a true display of sportsmanship, a number of fans in Riga, Latvia's capital city, delivered flowers to the American embassy in their city.

This has apparently become something of a tradition from hockey fans in the nation of Latvia, and thankfully this excellent display of sportsmanship was caught on video.
