Latest video of Connor Bedard leads to wild trade rumours!
He looked so defeated that some believe he might want out of Chicago for good. Watch below:
The Chicago Blackhawks suffered a fourth straight loss last night, losing 2-1 at the hands of the Utah Hockey League, which prompted defenseman Seth Jones to call out his teammates and voiced his frustration over the lack of improvement from his team all season.
Jones has not been the only Blackhawk upset with the team’s struggles this seasonn and a video of star forward Connor Bedard from last night has surfaced, making it clear the kid is at his wits ends in the penalty box.
During the second period, Bedard was penalized after committing a hooking violation on Utah’s Jack McBain and the camera caught his frustration and an agonizing defeated look on the former first overall pick’s face.
The video was posted via Gino Hard on X:
Bedard appears hopeless and unfortunately for him, his efforts have not allowed Chicago to make improvements from last season. To make things worse, the Hawks haven’t won since Feb. 7 and own the second worst record in all of the NHL, only better than the San Jose Sharks.
Bedard, who ranks third on the team with 16 goals and leads the club with 33 assists and 49 points, has been at the center of many trade rumours despite the Blackhawks making clear they’ve been in a rebuilding mode. And it’s far from over.
That’s what led Jones to asking team management to trade him to a contender, and perhaps, Bedard would love to be able to consider pulling a similar move.
Back in January, the Hawks’ struggles had prompted former NHL head coach and Sportsnet panelist Rick Bowness to suggest a significant trade scenario for the Blackhawks to consider, claiming how Chicago needed to find Bedard’s own Leon Draisaitl as he argued that Oilers’ Connor McDavid always had that chance in Edmonton, while Bedard doesn’t have another star forward to play with. There is the idea of going after pending free agent wingers that could test the market, hinting at Mikko Rantanen of the Carolina Hurricanes or Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
These are only rumours for now but you have to agree that the Blackhawks must find Bedard a star-caliber teammate to unlock his full potential. The young forward is not used to losing this much, and clearly, it is now taking a toll on him.
