Latest update on Connor McDavid’s injury has fans confused
He left last night’s game and now this. Full details below:
On Thursday night, Oilers captain Connor McDavid was forced to leave the game against the Winnipeg Jets after a suspected lower-body injury.
McDavid appeared in discomfort during the second period after a questionable play from Jets defenseman, and former Team Canada teammate, Josh Morrissey. He did not return to the third period, and Edmonton went on to lose 4-3 in overtime.
After the game, head coach Kris Knoblauch had little to say about the status on his superstar player. Teammate Zach Hyman did not have much more to offer.
“I have no idea what’s going on with Connor,” Hyman said. “Hopefully, he’s back (soon).”
However, reporters invited in the dressing room after the game for comments saw McDavid speaking with teammates and Ryan Rishaug posted this update upon seeing the Oilers’ captain:
“McDavid was standing around the locker room area after the game in a suit conversing with a teammate, no sign of anything unusual, but again no update from Knoblauch.”
It is likely that a more precise update on McDavid will come ahead of the Oilers’ contest against the Seattle Kraken on Saturday.
I’m not sure if the scene caught by Rishaug is positive, but fans would like something significant to seek their teeth into seeing that their best player might be out of action…
