Latest roster update for 2026 Olympics in Italy
Fans are getting so impatient especially after the amazing 4-nations tournament we just witnessed last month. More details below:
The 4 Nations Face-Off might have been short but it still provided fans with a preview of the 2026 Olympic rosters for Canada, Finland, Sweden and USA.
Fans are getting impatient to find out who will make their respective rosters, especially with how the 4-nations ended with Team Canada beating the Americans in overtime in what was one of the most exciting international face-off in history.
On Tuesday, insider Pierre LeBrun provided an update on what to expected for the 2026 Olympics and team rosters when he posted on X:
“The plan as of now regarding Olympic rosters is for each country to name 6 players in June and the rest of their rosters end of December.”
He added: " 6 players must be named by June 15 and the rest of the Olympic rosters by Dec. 31."
The NHL had pretty much done the same thing ahead of the 4-nations tournament, naming six players from each roster months in advance. There is a feeling Canada will call Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid in June. He scored the overtime winner against Team USA last month.
The league will be back at the Olympics in February 2026 after last participating 11 years ago. The NHL went to five consecutive Games between 1998 and 2014, but bailed on 2018 for financial reasons before having 2022 plans scrapped by COVID-19 concerns.
The 4 Nations was served as a tempting appetizer for fans with the 2026 Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy, on deck. The tournament surely set the table, and now fans are hungry to find out who makes the teams and which will be crowned the best in the World at the Olympics.
