Kevin Bieksa blasts John Tavares and William Nylander's lazy play

Two members of the Toronto Maple Leafs' "Core-4" got an earful from former defenseman-turned-analyst Kevin Bieksa for their lack of back checking on the play that eventually turned into the overtime game winning goal from Bruins captain Brad Marchand in last night's game at Scotiabank Arena. 

The Leafs were able to seize a point in the standings thanks to sniper Auston Matthews tying things up with just six seconds remaining in regulation, which was followed by 3-on-3 overtime. It wouldn't be long before David Pastrnak would break in alone on goaltender Joseph Woll, who stopped the backhand attempt before the former was able to feed the puck to the waiting Brad Marchand at the side of the net.

And afterward, Bieksa took both John Tavares and William Nylander to task for their lack of back checking on the critical play.

"Tavares here, head should be down trying to get back into the picture," Bieksa said. "Nylander, same thing. Him and Marchand are the two that tangled at center and Marchand ends up beating him to the net and scoring the winner."

But Bieksa wasn't alone in his criticism of the pair, as they were hearing it from more than a few frustrated fans on social media.
