The wife of National Hockey League star Johnny Gaudreau has taken to social media for the second time today, this time sharing a video that she no doubt hopes will bring a smile to the faces of those mourning the loss of her husband today.

Meredith took to social media earlier in the day to send out a pair of messages, one from her perspective and one from that of her young children, on the passing of Johnny and his brother Matthew Gaudreau, both of whom were killed by an alleged drunk driver.

This time around, Meredith's message comes in the form of a video, one that was published by HFTV Sports on Instagram and subsequently shared by Meredith herself on her own Instagram page. In the video, Johnny can be seen talking about how he would like to be remembered after his time with the Calgary Flames, with Johnny hoping to be remembered exactly how he is being remembered in the wake of his passing, as a great hockey player and an even better man off the ice.

"When my time does end here you know I hope people remember me as a good person off the ice, a good teammate... and just a good person I think," says Gaudreau in the video.

I am confident that Meredith is hoping that Johnny will be remembered exactly the way he would have wanted. Although this is a horrible event, I am happy to report that the hockey community and the sports community as a whole is in the process of making Johnny's wish come true, with an outpouring of love and support as we all look back at what an amazing hockey player, and what a great man Johnny Gaudreau truly was.

Taken from us far too soon.
