Johnny Gaudreau’s wife, Meredith, releases another heartbreaking message on Wednesday

Today is the couple’s wedding anniversary.

We are still mourning the tragic and untimely passing of Johnny Gaudreau and his younger brother Matthew, who passed away in a terrible incident last week. It occured on Thursday evening when Sean Higgins, 43, of Woodstown, New Jersey, was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee north on County Route 551 and attempted to overtake another vehicle. He struck the Gaudreau brothers, both riding bicycles alongside one another on the shoulder side of the road. Johnny and Matthew were pronounced dead at the scene. Police reports say Higgins was intoxicated and charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.

On Wednesday, Johnny’s wife Meredith released a new statement with pictures, commemorating the couple’s three-year wedding anniversary today.

Both Matthew and Johnny’s wives have been vocal about commemorating the men their husbands were, and this new message just pulls at your heart’s strings.

“I never post this much but John deserves it. 3 years ago today I became yours forever. One of the best days of my life, including the night we got engaged and the days we brought our babies into the world. The day I met you I remember saying to myself, omg I’m going to marry him. And every day after that kept getting better and better. I love you forever John and I am so proud to be your wife.”

Meredith Gaudreau has stood strong and has handled the heartbreaking tragedy with such grace. My heart goes out to her, and also to Matthew’s wife Madeline, whom he wed in July 2021. Madeline is expecting the couple’s first baby in December.

Johnny is not only survived by Meredith, but also their two children, Noa and young baby Johnny.

Keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.
