The Philadelphia Flyers started a back to back on Sunday night and unfortunately for the Flyers things got off to a pretty rough start. The Flyers were largely dominated by the Maple Leafs on the scoreboard with the Leafs eventually closing the game out by a score of 6-2, but it would appear that one Flyer in particular will be taking the brunt of the heat from this ugly loss.
Although Flyers head coach John Tortorella has yet to speak to the media at the time of this writing, it is crystal clear that the Flyers bench boss was very unhappy with the play of Flyers defenseman Tony DeAngelo. Deangelo was involved in some unfortunate turnovers for the Flyers and during the game's second period Tortorella sent him a clear message.
DeAngelo was forced to ride the pine for nearly the entire duration of the second period, with the 27 year old former first round pick getting just 32 seconds of ice time during that period.
It seemed like a butting of heads between DeAngelo and Tortorella was inevitable at some point during their relationship, and now we'll have to see how long DeAngelo remains in Tortorella's doghouse.
