John Tavares shares true view of Connor Bedard
The young Hawks forward already has his first NHL goal.

The hockey world has already been introduced to young phenom forward Connor Bedard, who was selected with the 1st overall draft pick by the Chicago Blackhawks this summer. It didn't take him long to collect his first goal in the 1st period of last night's game at TD Garden against the Boston Bruins, a moment that he and the rest of the fan base will always remember.
Meanwhile, a former 1st overall selection who also plays for a historic Original 6 team is voicing his true view of Bedard, and he's making a pretty major comparison. Toronto Maple Leafs captain John Tavares, who entered the NHL with plenty of hype of his own after being taken 1st overall by the New York Islanders in 2009, believes that Bedard has all the tools to have a career similar to that of Sidney Crosby.
"The way he carries himself is extremely impressive," Tavares said. "It reminds me of Sid."
Bedard is viewed as being the head of the next wave of NHL superstars, and it's especially fortunate for the Blackhawks, who have moved on from both figures who were the face of their franchise in Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane.
Do you agree with Tavares that Bedard is similar to Crosby?
