Detroit Red Wings forward Joe Veleno was one of 14 National Hockey League players to file for salary arbitration, and ahead of his scheduled hearing, he and the club have come to an agreement.
He'll be back with the Red Wings in the 2024-25 season after signing a two-year deal that carries an AAV of $2.275 million. The news was first reported by NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman:
Last season, Veleno made $825K and reached a career high 28 points. With the Veleno signing, the Red Wings now have just under $18 million of salary cap space remaining.
Meanwhile, the Red Wings have three remaining restricted free agents who have yet to sign new deals in Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, and Jonatan Berggren.
