Jim Hiller under fire for snapping at reporter after losing Game 4.
The pressure of the playoffs may be too much the Kings head coach.
The Los Angeles Kings have allowed the Edmonton Oilers to crawl back into this series and tie it up at 2-2 after 4 games in their opening round Stanley Cup playoff series and now many fans are starting to point the finger of blame directly at Kings head coach Jim Hiller.
Hiller didn't immediaely come under fire after his team blew another third period lead, this time letting the Oilers come all the way back to win the game in overtime, but rather it was his reaction to the loss at the podium that has made him a target. Hiller was asked about his team's inability to close out games in the third when he appeared to snap at the reporter asking the question.
"How do I change it? Ugh... next question please," said a visibly frustrated Hiller. "We're not far away on the empty net, Q chips one out and Bouchard makes a good play and we're not even talking about this. So how about that?"
Hiller would continue to antagonize the reporter from there, cutting him off twice as he tried to ask a follow up question.
"That's your favorite question by the way," said Hiller no longer attempting to mask his frustration.
Hiller would interrupt a second time.
"Maybe you've got some ideas for me?" asked Hiller.
Hiller's performance was so bad that even prominent journalists, like ESPN's Greg Wyshynski, were openly throwing him under the bus after what has been a very difficult weekend for the Kings head coach.
Fans haven't been any kinder, just look at some of the comments being directed in Hiller's direction.
It would seem fair to suggest at this stage that Hiller's performance in the first round of the playoffs may have very well put him on the hot seat.
