Beloved hockey head Jeff Marek has officially confirmed his return via his social media.

One of the most popular voices in the sport of hockey in recent years is coming back, although it still remains unclear exactly what format that comeback will take.

On Monday morning, radio and television host Jeff Marek officially announced the news that many hockey fans have been waiting for when he confirmed that he would indeed be returning to the sport in some capacity. Marek made the announcement via a relatively short video, one in which he highlighted all the love and support that he has been receiving from fans since his departure from Sportsnet earlier this summer.

Marek and Sportsnet parted ways unexpectedly and unceremoniously after Marek had been one of the most prominent figures on that network for well over a decade. The news shocked hockey fans around the world who had grown accustomed to hearing Marek on the radio and television as the host of the aptly named Jeff Marek show, as well as the co-host of arguably hockey's most well known podcast in the 32 Thoughts Podcast.

It has since come to light that Marek's departure from Sportsnet came as a result of him allegedly sharing proprietary information in and around the National Hockey League Entry Draft, although there have been no indications or even insinuations that Marek stood to gain financially from doing so nor had any intent of doing so.

The reality is that fans are far more interested in hearing his opinions on the sport that those fans love each and every day than they are in anything he may have done to upset the higher ups at the NHL and their gambling sponsors.

I for one can't wait to see what format Marek's return will take and will be eagerly anticipating it as I am sure all of you will as well.

Stay tuned for more details on this very exciting story.
