According to a report from NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the Calgary Flames are set to add former Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs' GM Dave Nonis to their staff.
It's also believed, of course, that the Flames will announce former NHL forward Craig Conroy as their next GM.
From Seravalli:
I may have buried the lede here, but Seravalli also reports that Flames' legend Jarome Iginla is set to join the staff, as well. So, in effect the Flames' executive staff will be Craig Conroy as GM with Dave Nonis and Jarome Iginla as his assistants or advisors.
Honestly... not a bad staff.
Nonis has been through the absolute ringer as GM of both the Leafs and the Canucks and, while his track record is spotty, he'll certainly have some good experience to draw on that should help rookies Conroy and Iginla.
