Jake Walman sends Matthew Tkachuk sailing through the air.
Detroit Red Wings forward Jake Walman sent Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk crashing to the ice.
Boy oh boy did this hit ever look scary in real time.
On Saturday, the Detroit Red Wings clashed with the Florida Panthers in what turned out to be a pretty feisty game between these two teams with plenty of pushing and shoving on both sides.
It would be Red Wings forward Jake Walman who would really get things started after he delivered a huge, and potentially dangerous, hit to Florida Panthers star forward Matthew Tkachuk. The hit would catch Tkachuk low and as a result it would send Tkachuk sailing over Walman's back and caused him to land awkwardly on the ice.
Tkachuk came down on the back of his head and neck and the impact looked quite scary, but thankfully he was able to bounce back up and skate off to the Panthers bench under his own power. Tkachuk wouldn't so much as leave the game, which appears to indicate he will be just fine.
