He's moving on, but couldn't leave without saying goodbye.

The Jake DeBrusk era is over with the Boston Bruins, as he's officially moved on to accept a seven year contract with the Vancouver Canucks that will pay him an AAV of $5.5 million.

He's spent the first 465 games of his career with the Bruins, scoring a total of 138 goals and 128 assists and helping them to within a game of winning the 2019 Stanley Cup. But as he moves on to the next part of his NL career, he was sure to bid a heartfelt goodbye to the fans that cheered him on for seven years.

DeBrusk penned the following letter on his social media account to Bruins fans:

“Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!” DeBrusk captioned the post. “Thank you to all of the people that I got to meet and had the pleasure of getting to know throughout my last seven years in the Black and Gold. There will always be a place in my heart for Boston and that’s because of my teammates that I went to battle with and the fans who were with me from the start! In saying all that I am extremely excited to start this new chapter in my career and to be in Vancouver and to put on that Canucks jersey!”

November 26 will mark the first occasion that DeBrusk returns to TD Garden wearing opposition colors, and he'll almost certainly be getting a video tribute on the big screen.
