Jack Campbell allows another comedically bad goal

To put it lightly, the tenure of goaltender Jack Campbell since joining the Edmonton Oilers has not gone even remotely according to plan.

He was sent to the minors after a rough start with Edmonton this season, further bringing into question the hefty five year, $25 million deal that he was given by Oilers general manager Ken Holland in 2022 after a mostly successful tenure with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Upon his arrival with the AHL's Bakersfield Condors, he had a rough start, sporting a 4-6-0 record with a 3.46 goals against average and .888 save percentage. As of right now, he's 16-12 with a 2.58 goals against average and a more digestible .920 save percentage. 

But during Tuesday night's game against the Calgary Wranglers, Campbell allowed another rough goal that was reminiscent of some of the stunning goals he allowed both with the Oilers and upon his initial demotion to the AHL. 

Calgary's Jonathan Aspirot was awarded a penalty shot, and tried to beat Campbell with a blocker side shot that initially appeared to have been turned aside. However, the puck floated in the air unbeknownst to Campbell and into the net behind him. 

Will Campbell ever make his way back to the NHL again?
