J.T. Miller trade falls apart on Saturday.

The Vancouver Canucks came extremely close to trading forward J.T. Miller on Saturday.

It sounds as though a trade involving Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller is either in the process of falling apart or has already fallen apart.

Earlier today I brought you a report that indicated that Miller was very close to being shipped out of Vancouver, but it would now seem as though those trade talks may have cooled off.

During Saturday night's Hockey Night in Canada broadcast, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that the trade was so close at one point that Miller was expected to be held out of the lineup for tonight's game between the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks.

"J.T. Miller I expect is going to play tonight, unless something changes at the last minute, but there was a time over the last 24 hours where J.T. Miller was not going to play," revealed Friedman. "He was going to be held out of the lineup because talks were progressing on a trade."

Friedman also shared some details about the other team he believes was involved in that potential trade deal, with that team being the New York Rangers.

"I believe that team to be the New York Rangers," said Friedman.

Unfortunately it sounds as though the trade with the Rangers may never materialize, with Friedman indicating that something happened to cause the trade to fall apart.

"I don't know exactly what happened but that trade is off right now," said Friedman.

Friedman did also however go on to reveal that there are other teams in the National Hockey League that have been granted permission to speak to Miller about a potential trade, a sign that Miller's time in Vancouver is indeed coming to an end very quickly.

"I believe now at this time some teams do have permission to talk to Miller," revealed Friedman. "Not sure who it is but I've heard that there are some teams that have been granted permission."

It seems like something is going to have to give here, so stay tuned for updates on this rapidly developing story.
