J.T. Miller on the verge of being traded.
A report from a National Hockey League insider has confirmed that Miller may soon be on the move.
The J.T. Miller era in Vancouver may officially be coming to an end.
Although Miller has yet to be moved it is starting to sound like a trade involving the veteran forward is now only a matter time with a report from arguably the top Canucks insider in the business pointing in that direction. That report comes from Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal who on Saturday reported that there was an increased level of activity regarding the Miller situation.
"JT Miller has not been asked to waive his no trade clause yet but there seems to be a lot activity around Miller today," wrote Dhaliwal on Saturday.
"Some think the Canucks are working hard on this," he added.
There have been rumblings, rumors, signs and even reports of an ongoing conflict between Miller and teammate Elias Pettersson, although the Canucks as well as the players involved initially made their best attempts to downplay the issues between Miller and Pettersson this season. That being said the likes of former Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau have confirmed that there have been long lasting issues between the two players, and it seems to finally have reached the point of no return.
There has been no word from Dhaliwal on who the Canucks are currently talking to about the potential of this trade deal, but I have to believe that Miller's cap hit of $8 million per season, as well as the fact that he is only in the 2nd year of that 7 year deal, will likely limit the number of teams that can even pull off a trade of this nature at this stage of the season.
