Insider shares additional concerns regarding Connor Bedard.
A National Hockey League insider shares a concerning update on the status of the Blackhawks young star.
The Chicago Blackhawks dropped some bad news on Saturday when they announced that rookie sensation Connor Bedard was headed to injured reserve with a fractured jaw, but there are still a great deal of unknowns surrounding Bedard and his injury at this time.
The Blackhawks did not provide a timeline for Bedard's return when making the announcement and of course everyone is concerned about the possibility of Bedard missing his first ever National Hockey League All-Star Game. While the All-Star Game is still a little less than a month away, which will give Bedard time to recover, whether or not that will be enough time remains to be seen.
It sounds like the Blackhawks themselves may still be in the dark regarding Bedard's recovery, with National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman reporting on Saturday that Bedard will go through an imaging process to determine the severity of the fracture and we'll likely know more once that process is complete.
The precise location of the fracture, something we are not privy to, will also impact Bedard's timeline for recovery all of which currently put his status for the All-Star Game in doubt.
It would be a disaster for the National Hockey League, the Chicago Blackhawks, and for Bedard himself to be absent following his first ever All-Star selection, but in a sport as physical as the sport of hockey these things can happen.
