Insider Elliotte Friedman issues warning about one Eastern contender!
Ready to make a move to bolster their lineup and go all the way to the Stanley Cup. More details below:
One team out East has been racking up points lately and seriously focused on the upcoming trade deadline and postseason that makes Elliotte Friedman believe they are the ones to watch. The Carolina Hurricanes sit in the second place in the Metropolitan Division and within eight points of the division-leading Washington Capitals, and the Sportsnet’s insider refers to them as active on the trade market and hints at a pending move in the coming weeks in his latest 32 Thoughts column.
“Team to watch: Carolina. They are active, ready to pounce.”
One short line, but straight to the point.
The Canes are firmly in the Stanley Cup contender category once again and this comes with a sense that, with all the trade chatter surrounding Carolina, something’s got to give soon.
Friedman didn’t get into any specific players or teams that the Canes might be discussing with, however, they were recently linked to Vancouver Canucks’ J.T. Miller amid his locker room feud with Elias Pettersson, though as of now, the New York Rangers appear to remain the favourites to win these sweepstakes.
However, Friedman is convinced the Hurricanes are seeking upgrades once again with the deadline approaching and clearly we better all be watching what general manager Eric Tulsky and the Canes do next. They are ready to make a move to bolster their lineup and go all the way to the Stanley Cup.
