Huge update on injured Blackhawks star Connor Bedard.
The Chicago Blackhawks got some very good news on Monday during their morning skate.
The Chicago Blackhawks haven't had a lot of good news when it comes to injuries this season so today's update will likely feel like a nice change of pace.
On Monday, as the Blackhawks hit the ice for their morning skate, Blackhawks star forward Connor Bedard was spotted hitting the ice for the first time since he suffered a fractured jaw earlier this month. To be clear it looks like Bedard is still a ways away from making a return, but this was a very positive sign for the Blackhawks.
Bedard was spotted wearing a non-contact jersey so he will be limited during practice and he was also wearing a face shield out on the ice. When you consider that Bedard is sporting a surgically repaired fractured jaw, the face shield makes a great deal of sense.
Bedard has reportedly been chomping at the bit to get back out on the ice with Blackhawks veteran Nick Foligno revealing that he has been enlisted to help try and calm the youngster down. In spite of that, Bedard was working with the puck on the ice today and is no doubt itching to do more.
