Calgary Flames assistant general manager Chris Snow is a fighter. Three years ago, after he was diagnosed with ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, he was given a year to live. This summer, he received a standing ovation at the 2022 NHL Awards when he and his family presented the Norris Trophy and raise awareness of the progressive neuromuscular disease.
Snow is just an inspiration.

On Friday however, Snow’s wife Kelsie shared a heartbreaking update on the health of her husband, stating that Chris was admitted to hospital on Thursday and that he took a turn for the worse during the night and had to be put on a ventilator.

“Now we wait to see if he will get better. We are very sad and very scared. Hug your people. Life is so tenuous,” Kelsie Snow added.

Snow received his diagnosis back in June 2019, not long after losing his father, two uncles and a cousin to ALS. At 37, he pursued an experimental therapy to slow the disease. The 41-year-old has kept working for the Flames, while battling this disease.

Our thoughts go out to the Snow family and Chris, who have become tireless advocates for ALS research.

Together for Chris Snow!
