Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie has already lost his father due to the dreaded disease of Alzheimers. And now, he's had the unfortunate duty to announce another heartbreaking update on social media yesterday.
Oshie's friend and former high school teammate Michael Tveiter passed away in his sleep at the young age of 37 over the weekend; the two were teammates with Warroad Boys Highschool Hockey, who won a state championship two decades ago.
Oshie wrote the following on Twitter:
"Absolutely heartbroken to learn that my good friend and high school teammate unexpectedly died yesterday while taking a nap from a migraine. Any donation to his wife and kids pictured below can help them navigate life without Michael moving forward. Love you Tveiter!! Donate here"
Tveiter leaves behind his wife Darnell and three sons, Carson, Cooper and Cullen.
