Head coach fined $25,000 for unprofessional conduct by the NHL!

After he was ejected from the game, Greg Cronin has to pay up.

On Monday night, Anaheim Ducks head coach Greg Cronin was ejected from the game against the Pittsburgh Penguins for unsportsmanlike conduct after his team had a goal overturned for goalie interference.

On Friday, he was handed a hefty fine of $25,000 for “unprofessional conduct directed at the officials.”

The fine money goes to the NHL Foundation. 

This is what took place, leading to the Ducks’ bench boss’ ejection and extra fine on Friday.

Cronin was tossed after his reaction to overtuned goal by the Ducks due to goaltender interference. The team challenged the call, but video review upheld the no-goal call which is when Cronin lost it.

Incensed, the head coach was received a two-minute bench minor for unsportsmanlike conduct in addition to his ejection. The Ducks were already dealing with the two-minute minor for delay of game after an unsuccessful coaches challenge.

The Ducks were however able to rally to tie the game 3-3 as assistant coaches Brent Thompson and David Rook remained behind the bench. Anaheim ever managed to win the game without Cronin with a 4-3 comeback win in regulation.

However today, Cronin loses. $25,000 that is...
