When it was announced that the NHL would be hosting a pre-season game in Halifax and that the Pittsburgh Penguins and captain Sidney Crosby would be coming to town, fans quickly snapped up seats to attend the contest against the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax.
Now, it is reported that the game is sold out, with tickets now reselling for more than $2,500 each.
Events East, which operates Scotiabank Centre, confirmed that tickets sold out fast, with a limited number of presale tickets were made available to Halifax Mooseheads season ticket holders on Monday. Then, regular tickets were made availability on Tuesday with prices ranging from around $69.50 for upper bowl tickets to just under $200 for lower bowl. Within 30 minutes, the only ones available on Ticketmaster for the event were “verified resale tickets.”
By the afternoon, resale prices ranged from $581.59 ($84.49 of which were fees and taxes) for upper bowl seats to a whopping $2,632.50 ($382.50 of which were fees and taxes) for a lower bowl seat in Section 22.
Prices are only expected to reach higher prices.
Would you pay that much to see Crosby play at home in an NHL pre-season game?
