Habs’ Arber Xhekaj knocks down Hawks’ Pat Maroon in heavyweight fight!
6’3 235lb Pat Maroon drops the gloves with 6’4 240lb Arber Xhekaj, who drops him! Watch below:
Montreal Canadiens enforcer Arber Xhekaj was looking to wake up his teammates and gain back the momentum in Chicago after the Blackhawks took the lead 1-0 earlier on in the first period on a two-man advantage power-play.
Xhekaj dropped the gloves with none other than veteran enforcer Pat Maroon and got the best of the Hawks’ forward when he piled on left hooks directly to his face, beating him with rapid-fire punches.
Xhekaj knocked Maroon down, who was helped back up by officials before both players were sent to the penalty box for fighting.
This was not the first time Xhekaj and Maroon fought in the NHL. Last season with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Maroon had dare to accept a challenge by Xhekaj, only to be beaten there too by the Canadiens’ rookie.
Another fight between the two, another win for Xhekaj who again dropped the veteran player.
