Soo Greyhounds goalie Tucker Tynan is trending once again, and we cannot say it is for good reasons.
His name might ring a bell: Tynan suffered a life-threatening injury two years ago when he sustained deep laceration to his thigh after a collision in the crease against the London Knights back on Dec. 12, 2019 when he was part of the Niagara IceDogs.

He was lying on the ice, bleeding nearly to death before he was tended to by medical staff from both teams on the ice before being carted off on a stretcher and taken to hospital. He had surgery and was released five days later.

Tynan has been back in the OHL, but is now under fire as his current team, the Soo Greyhounds had to admit that they are “aware” of the online accusations made recently that Tynan has been involved in a bookmaking operation.

The team and league are investigating after a Twitter account user, using the pseudonym JoeyKnish22, accused Tynan of his involvement in the operation before Christmas.

“Were you aware that @tuckertynan1 is part of an illegal bookmaking operation?,” JoeyKnish22 posted on Dec. 22. “Seems like something @OHLHockey @Houndpower should look into. After he accepted losses from my friend of over $7000 to his cashapp and personal bank account, then refused to pay out winning and stiffed him.”

JoeyKnish22 went on to make more serious accusations of Tyran:

“After yesterdays tweet, I started getting DM’s and messages from others that didn’t know me at all that KNEW who I was talking about, saying he’s done this BEFORE. Not his first rodeo stiffing ppl. And also said he’s been betting on his own games @OHLHockey, @OHLHoundPower.” JoeyKnish22 added.

Tynan defended himself on Twitter, posting: “It was made clear what they wanted, when they obtained my number and messaged me. They made it clear by any means necessary, their intention was to extort me out of money, as they claimed someone I know stiffed them.”

Lawyers are getting into the mix. This will be a situation to keep an eye on.

Tynan is feeling better, but this situation, while it isn’t life-threatening, is not fun either we bet…
