Goalie Jacob Markstrom gets badly run over and is down in serious pain!
The Devils’ netminder appeared to suffer a serious injury against the Bruins and needed help off the ice. Watch what happened below:
New Jersey Devils goalie Jacob Markstrom was forced to block something much bigger than a shot on the second period of the game against Boston when Bruins’ Justin Brazeau crashed into him.
Markstrom was immediately in visible pain as he laid face first on the ice. He needed assistance to make it back to the Devils’ dressing room.
As he made his way towards the bench, Markstrom was met by Bruins’ goalie Jeremy Swayman who came to check up on him and give him a pat.
If Markstrom has to miss any time at this point in the season, it will be a significant blow to the Devils.
While he has lost three straight games during which he posted a 2.29 GAA to go with a 0-1-2 record, he still as already reached the 20-win mark for the eighth consecutive season, and many believed he should be capable of pushing for 30 for just the second time in his career.
But now, it all depends of the severity of his injury and how long he could have to miss.
