Girl named Rachel dumps boyfriend in front of everyone at Lightning’s game

The Carolina Hurricanes suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday nigh. The Canes surrendered a last-minute goal after they had battled back to tie the game.

However, they weren’t the only ones who left the Amalie Arena with a broken heart. During the game, one guy named Josh was dumped by his girlfriend Rachel, who used the Jumbo Tron to make the announcement that she was breaking up with him.

On the screen, the following message appeared:

“Josh, I think we are better off as friends. THX for the Bolts TIX tho. Rachel”

After the 3-2 loss, Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour spoke with the media and talked about giving up the go-ahead goal to the Lightning in the last minute, saying: “That’s the worst way to lose.”

I’m pretty sure Josh feels the same way about Rachel’s break-up note, though he did get to see the Lightning win in the end.

Maybe that makes up for it?
