George Parros linked to new NHL job
The NHL Player Safety Department could get a change it badly needs…

Fans (and some players we bet) have been asking for George Parros to be removed as director of NHL’s Department of Player Safety - especially since the incident between the Washington Capitals and New York Rangers in which Parros’ department decided not to suspend Tom Wilson for punching and smashing the head of star player Artemi Panarin on the ice in a melee.
Well, they might finally get what they’re after. It sounds like, per Andy Strickland, that Parros is one of the candidate to take over Anaheim Ducks’ general manager’s spot.
As you know, Bob Murray has resigned as executive vice president and general manager of the Ducks as he will enroll in an alcohol abuse program. The decision was made one day after the Ducks placed Murray on administrative leave pending an internal investigation into allegations of improper professional conduct. Anaheim has not specified when these complaints were made, or how many people have come forward.
Parros is considered a candidate for the job in Anaheim.
Parros took over the NHL’s Department of Player Safety in 2017, with a promise to crack down on slashing and non-hockey infractions. As a player, the opposing player racked up 1,092 penalty minutes in 474 regular-season games with the Los Angeles Kings, Colorado Avalanche, Anaheim Ducks, Florida Panthers and Montreal Canadiens. He was never fined or suspended.
