Gavin McKenna stuns everyone with jaw-dropping moves.
The projected first overall pick in 2026 has just lit the hockey world on fire with an unbelievable highlight.
17 year old forward Gavin McKenna just showed the entire hockey world why, for many years now, he has been projected as the player most likely to be selected first overall at the 2026 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
On Sunday, McKenna and his Medicine Hat Tigers were facing off against the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League and it would be during the second period of that game that McKenna would stun everyone in attendance... including his very own teammates.
With a little over 13 minutes left to go in the second period, McKenna and the Tigers found themselves on the penalty kill, only someone forgot to tell McKenna. The dynamic forward would take the puck from deep within his own zone and skate all the way down the ice before pulling off a series of moves that is quite frankly hard to describe.
McKenna began by slowing his momentum before passing the puck behind his back to himself, proceeded to pull a spin-o-rama around the defender as he gathered the puck back onto his stick, and then fired it off into the back of the Raiders' net. It was truly a moment you have to see to believe, and thankfully it was all caught on video so you can witness it with your own two eyes.
It may go down as one of the defining highlights of McKenna's young career and it will certainly have teams in the National Hockey League drooling at the prospect of having the chance to draft McKenna first overall. Of course we won't know who will get that pick for quite some time, but don't be surprised if we see some teams tanking for a chance at nabbing the first overall pick in 2026.
